Default May I ask a question? On Music Blogging and Promoting.

Hello, I am new here ( I don't like my username - how do i change it ? )

Right, I know all you guys will know this stuff better than me.

I am friends with a band from Ireland called O Emperor and they want me to help them promote their stuff in America. They are playing at the SWSX festival in Texas in March. Now This band aren't just any band, they are actually quite good. Their debut album was released in Novermber in Ireland and May this year in the UK.

I was wondering what would be the best way at going about getting bloggers in America to feature their stuff and get a bit of buzz going? The tour is costing the band enough as it is and I wanted to help them.

I am not allowed to post links or anything so maybe you could check them out yourself?

I'm fairly certain that you were warned about this when you first joined. You spammed the forum to get to 15 posts so you could post a link and were subsequently banned. I know that you made a second account to do the exact same thing which is strictly prohibited. Please read the forum rules and don't do it again.

i don't know if this is the right band, but if it is, this person is doing a good thing by risking their music banter cred in posting on their behalf. i checked'em out and i dig it. so here's the link!

I am not spamming now. And if this is considered spamming then I am a bit dissapointed with this site.

I regret not reading the rules, won't do something that stupid again.

Thank you, I want them to do well, they bloody deserve it.

I hope to be a member of this site, I only found it. I play guitar and piano.

Anyone I have introduced them to has not regretted it so please check them out.

I strongly suggest giving " HEISENBERG ", " SEDALIA " and " FAT LADY SINGS " a listen. They are my favourite at least...

There's nothing wrong with recommending a new, promising band. But if you're here just to promote them and drop a link, then it becomes a problem. It tells us that you're not here to be a part of this forum, but to use it for promotional purposes. And that is not allowed. It's stated in the rules, which I hope you read by now.

Well i have nothing to gain from the band becoming successful( I just love their music and want them to do well ), i am genuinely interested in becoming part of this forum. I have read the rules now, I don't think that this thread should be a problem then, I am NOT promoting, I am introducing and sharing, which is all I am interested in.

You have just joined this forum and before becoming a part of it, you are already 'introducing' this band you happen to be friends with. That looks like a promotion to me. Not to mention you have already tried to spam to get to 15 posts and you're lucky you were not banned then. After you're question is answered this thread will most likely be closed or moved.

I advise you to take it easy, join the many discussions and topics we have here if you really want to be a part of the forum.
