I do love that song even more now after seeing that video though.

I think *this* is the official video made by MGMT for their "Kids" song:

I like the song but neither the fan-made video loose-lips shared, nor the official video. I actually prefer the fan-made video, I think!

Ha ha! That poor cat! I wonder what s/he was so upset about. I've never heard a cat so disconsolate. You can tell how troubled the cat is because of the lip-licking...as if the "no no no no" plaintive sounds weren't enough of a clue!
Ah thanks. Yes, I definitely prefer the fan made as well.

Every time I see that cat video it just makes me think that he's probably in some kind of pain and instead of taking him to the vet they are laughing at it and recording the poor guy.

At least the cat didn't have to suffer through watching the MGMT "Kids" video!

Seriously, though, I don't know enough about cats' vocalizations to know what troubled the cat, dj. It sounds to me more like the cat is having an emotional issue. I think the cat is feeling a combination of fear and anger: her/his hair is poofed a bit, and s/he is on the verge of biting. I would think that a full-out pain feeling would make a cat howl more piercingly.

At least the owners pet the cat, trying to soothe her or him a little...before egging the cat on. ("Egging someone on!" -- I just realized how weird that phrase is: http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/egg-on.html )

According to the description of the video, it was the first time the cat had met their daughter's friend and for some weird reason the cat was totally freaked out by this person. Apparently it was also the only time they've ever seen the cat do this, which is why they videotaped it.
