Why is it a sin to promote?

As long as it's not spammy why is this site so against people promoting music?

In a world music is dying on it's feet especially for small independents it doesn't quite sit right.

ah well.

Cheers anyway :P

I think there should a thread in each genre forum dedicated for people to promote themselves/other new rising talents, nobody wants to see page after page of threads made by every Tom, Dick and Harry who can rap, play a guitar or sing.

Because those are the rules.

Have a glorious day!

To answer your question, because when we allow it, this forum gets clogged with people who's solitary purpose is to promote their wares, and they get exceptionally crafty at times, just like you.

I honestly think that you justifying your spam by saying that your "intention" was to not spam was golden. Pure entertainment.

But anyways, this place is for the discussion of music, not the promotion thereof. Best of luck to you in all of your future endeavors.

I also strongly dispute the claim that independent music is "dying on its feet."

Never have new artists had so many avenues to promote and network available to them than they do now.
