You've Just Been Hit By A Bus. What's Playing?

You are listening to your portable music device and walking down the street. You come to an intersection and wait for the light so that you can cross the street. When the sign says walk you look both ways and begin to cross the street. When you are about half way across the street, a car comes speeding around a blind corner and kills you.

When the police arrive at the scene you are a grizzly sight and are barely recognizable. Your portable music device was almost magically stopped on impact and is amazingly unscathed by the crash.

What would you like to have been listening to at the moment your life ended? This is the last song you ever chose to listen to, all the while oblivious to your impending doom.

Bonus question: name three albums that you would put in a time capsule to be opened 100 years from now (assume that human society will survive that long).

I have to go soon so I'm going to answer the first question then bonus later.

I really hate coldplay except for this song and it'd be awesome to be playing

I could see this song playing while I got hit by the bus and objects that I'm holding go flying through the air(misc. papers)

I'd probably film that scene in slow motion of course or maybe a bit of stop motion....something like how Hiro would stop time and that song would be playing

One of my all time favorites, if I knew I was gonna die I'd put it on.

I wouldn't be caught dead listening to Coldplay.

Probably Mogwai.

Winner. However I would be listening to this version.

A bit OT, but my friend fell off a cliff and suffered a severe concussion and he says the only thing he can remember is the vivid memory of Neil Young playing in his head.

That sounds awful. Falling off a cliff wouldn't be any fun either.;)

I feel like this would be just about the perfect song to die to, might be cliche but hey I'd like to leave happy.

jackhammer 07-01-2011 06:31 PM

The sins I have committed being replayed in my head probably.

glastonelle 07-02-2011 01:56 AM

I knew someone would mention The Smiths, and even though I love them, I'd probably have to go with 'Don't You Forget About Me' by Simple Minds, or maybe '505' by Arctic Monkeys.

I am going to ignore how cheesy and embarrassing that song is (DYFAM) as a choice, but I do genuinely love it and listen to it regularly. When it played in Easy A I almost died of happiness. Its really surprising that I actually have friends.

Howard the Duck 07-02-2011 02:24 AM

pretty obvious choice really

and in my last few seconds of consciousness, there'd be images of helicopters and explosions in the jungle and Martin Sheen

Zer0 07-02-2011 09:00 AM

Ok it's not a song but probably this...

But this would work out too...

Why? Because I would want my mind to be completely lost in space during that final moment.
