Agree with gotjuice, A Rush of Blood snatches it in the end for me as well. I don't think there's a single song on that album that I haven't been obsessed with at one point, which is unfortunately more than I can say about X & Y and Viva. These days I rather spin the first Parachutes and A Rush of Blood before I put on one of the last two records.

Their newer songs are much better live than on the record though. That pretty much goes for everything on Viva.

I love Rush of Blood. In my opinion it's not just their best, its head and shoulders above. I haven't heard their new one yet though I will admit. I wasnt a fan of Parachutes and X&Y was alright.

After giving Viva la Vida another listen, I'll admit it's better than X&Y, but that's as far as it'll go.

Joe Satriani is suing Coldplay over copyright infringement of his song "If I Could Fly", in their song "Viva La Vida".

There's no way it's true, because if it was, that would mean Coldplay listened to Satch :D

what did I do wrong <.<

Did someone already post this? I'll check now.

EDIT: I'd kind of think there was some discussion to be had about it... as in, do you think Satch has a case or not?

He has a case but the fact that COLDPLAY was able to take his song and make it better means he should probably go hide in a corner and never make music again. I like Coldplay, don't get me wrong, but if you're considered a 'virtuoso' then Coldplay-level bands shouldn't be able to do that.

Sigh... he didn't write the song because it was so hard that no one else can play it, that's obvious. He wrote it because it's a GOOD song idea. The fact that Coldplay are able to do it makes them cover artists, not good musicians.

I don't think Satch has a case, because even if it's a good and catchy melody, it's rather simple. I can see a lot of artists coming up with it independently.
