Default The best band/artist-names?

What do you think is the best name of a band or an artist? And why? Is it catchy? Does it fit the style of the band? Or is it just because it makes you smile? Or cry? Or... well, it's up to you.

If I had to choose one, I think it would be Radiohead. It just matches the band's music really well. It's cold and electronic, but, at the same time, warm and organic... am I the only one who thinks like that?

I think Eminem is one of the best artist-names as well. It's just so catchy. You hear it once, and you'll remember it. Forever. It also suits the artist himself in a way. I don't really know how to explain it...

So what do you think is the best artist-names?
(It would also be fun to include some of the worst)

I really dig Phish. Their name basically sums them up in that it's a creature which just kind of swims and floats around, yet spelled differently...and because it's their drummer's nickname. Also, I think it's quite catchy and memorable - even if, upon occasion, the connotation is negative. When you say, "I was listening to Phish," people are going to know what you're talking about, even if they've never heard a single song by the band. And they're going to know how it's spelled, too.

Also:

Country Joe & The Fish
- Maybe I'm just obsessed with marine life. That's of no consequence. This is an amazing band name. It sounds like it's some guys who are making music for their enjoyment whilst enjoying the ganja. And hey, whaddya know - that's exactly what it is.

Queen
- Regal, majestic, and a lotta glam. This band summed up perfectly the quartet from England. Particularly Freddie. As a result of my enjoyment of the band and my approval of the name, from 8th grade (2000) until fairly recently, my typical online handle was: Freddieismyqueen.

Black Sabbath
- A band who were pioneers of the metal genre. This was absolutely perfect as far as names go. The image evoked of a dark day of worship is perfection. Very good call by the guys.

The Grateful Dead
- No one seems even to think about this name, but it's wonderful. Think about it. Now you understand why it's superb.

If I told my classmates that I listen to Phish (or 'fish', which they would have thought I was talking about), they would just think I am weird. Oh. Wait. They do already.

In Norway we have a "Heavy Politically Incorrect Humor Rock"-band called Black Debbath

The Rolling Stones is the best "name" and band musically.

The same applies for Elvis Costello. (artist)

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God

Pink Floyd! Not many bands can get Floyd into their name and get away with it.

The Dicks is a pretty great band name imo. It really doesn't get more punk than that.
