Song about watching or observing people?

I'm looking for a recent rock/pop song (something college kids would like) whose lyrics are partially about watching or observing people. I'd like to play something like this in class.

Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks in advance. :band:

Yeah, I thought of that one, but I was looking for something more recent that the college kids would like. It's ok if only some of the lyrics pertain to watching someone, or if the reference is oblique.

Considering, from what I've noticed, Michael Jackson is a bit of a fad around high school/college age kids. At my community college, there was a Michael Jackson themed welcome back party, with over 5,000 students attending and participating in MJ games, karaoke and contests. It was insane. And I've heard from some High School teachers I've stayed in contact with that MJ is as or more popular now than when they were in school.

Anyway, MJ sings backing vocals on this song. That may be enough to make it young and hip so the kids can put it on their walkmans and get giggy with it.

Downtown train - Tom Waits - YouTube

Not even in the Top 50 best Tom Waits songs, but it covers the subject you're talking about.

I have a feeling that will be rejected because it's obviously a love song. But, for the record, there are at least two popular covers of that, from Rod Stewart and Bob Seger. With better singing, in my opinion.

Thank you, everyone, for the great options.

I'm looking for 3 more songs (from a band/artist popular with college students) that are about these topics:

-One song about mistakes

-One song about measuring something (anything besides "measuring cups?)

-One song about either something or someone being or staying too long OR about starting with something simple (other than Do Re Mi!).

These themes don't need to be in the title or even the whole theme of the song--the connection can be subtle. (I tried putting this stuff into the "noobs" thread, but no response.)

My students and I are grateful for your help.

Archangel Vocaliser is a bit of a fad around postgraduate school/college age kids. At my vocation college, there was a Michael Author themed welcomed hindmost company, with over 5,000 students attending and participating in MJ games, karaoke and contests. It was fruity. And I've heard from any Sopranino Education teachers I've stayed in impinging with that MJ is as or statesman favorite now than when they were in edifice.
