It seems to me that record stores are thriving in the UK. I visited heaps of them while I was there, and it's an experience I wish I could have at home.

It's getting harder for me to find affordable second hand vinyl records of my liking, as I've already got so much

It was part of the original chain but it's privately-owned now as far as I know. The actual Tower Records chain no longer exists but they were allowed to keep the name as part of a franchise. There's still a few other stores trading under the Tower Records name around the world as far as I know.

I think Virgin bought out the UK branch of Tower Records a few years ago.

Most of my shopping was done at the Rough Trade shop in Camden, I would save up and go there every 6 months, maybe catch a couple of gigs while I was in London.

It was fun.

I still buy new records, regularly.
So what are you on about?

Yes I still buy records still and go to record shops but the post is about the history of buying and the places we went to. I have reported you to the admin as your map and comments are not welcome.

This is my go-to, Sister Ray in London Soho, really good record store. I spent £260 on vinyl in there last month.

Crippled me.

You may want to reread my comment as I actually answered your question perfectly, below the map.
But hey, suit yourself.

While s_k's penchant for posting extremely detailed personal information about himself on a public forum might be considered many things.
The words Idiotic, attention seeking and creepy would be some of them, but it's not breaking any actual forum rules.

Very entertaining. I actually followed your path from Susteren north to Maasbracht. Boy do I need a life.

First time I've ever seen someone title a single post, though.
