I would have to say this song pretty accurately represent me in a lot of ways right now. First an most importantly it hasn't lost its relevance to me over the past 4 years since I have known it and around that time it was a large driving force in getting me interested in music. More importantly though I have connected it to the song in many ways over time. A long time ago I was amazed by its intimacy was just impressed with how the band was able to really show so much to an audience. I praised it was a lot of endearment and thought what they did was so great but something I could never do (be so intimate to an audience). Now though the songs intimacy is actually something I can relate to rather than watch from afar. Because of this I would have to say this is my favorite song! I have had my ups and downs with The Raincoats but its only a matter of time before I come back to them and appreciate them.

Well I know that, but the one that captures your aura the most then.

I hate the word 'aura', reminds me of most people out there who think they can judge people just by what they think they see in someone who they don't actually know at all. Most people are just useless at judging people like that and yet they are completely oblivious to their ignorance. Better to just say personality which you only know when you actually get to know somebone. Anyway I'd probably pick something more passionate than the first song I did, but something still with some beauty and craft to it.

The Mama's and the Papa's - California Dreaming

This song is my favourite song ever. It never fades, it never stops being relevant. It's incredibly beautiful, slightly haunting and describes living the moment and never giving up on yourself no matter dark you feel inside.

Runners up:

The Rolling Stones - Angie

This has to be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Raw, sweet emotion and gentle riffs make all the hurt from the past dissipate into the deep.

Deep Purple - Sweet Child In Time

An unbelievable song that has such a intense build up and delicious keyboarding. Beginning with a low soulful start, the gripping lyrics sink in and the power of the song begins to grab hold.

I love that song Angie.

well, if you want me to put up a runner-up, it's this one:-

captures all the naivete and "stupidity" of first love, this actually brings me back to being 16 again and all the antecedent problems of wooing the girl I loved

I love that song, but have you seen the film Chungking Express? Uses it around 15 times, no jokes. Really can't think of anything else when I hear the song now. Which isn't a bad thing.

Right, according to last.fm my most listened to song since 2009 is this...

I think this song ranks right up there with the best intro's/album openers of all time.

Thats definitely a good song to have as your favourite.
