Favorite Progressive Rock Band :)

The only progressive band I ever checked out and actually loved were Pink Floyd until 2 days ago I checked out an amazing band named "Genesis" & was completely blown away. Every new song put a smile on my face and their concept album "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway" definitely has to be one of the best concept albums to ever be released. I'm suprised that I have never heard of these guys before especially since their work is great from 69-86 :] I didn't really care for the commercial sound they were going for in the 80's but all their theme albums were impeccable.....Pink Floyd & Genesis are my favorite progressive rock bands, What is yours? Your favorite progressive rock album? & Why?

Are you being serious, are you new to music? These are some of the most famous bands in the history of rock.

Wishbone Ash, King Crimson, Yes are my staples from the good old days. Rush and The Mars Volta are my (more) modern favorites.

I'm new to classic/progressive rock :)
I barely started getting into 60's/70's era of music last summer so I'm a bit behind but whenever i do enjoy a group I try to get as much of their work as I can.(their whole discography)

Stop? As in you're going to just stop listening to them? Get all the albums and just listen to them chronologically so you can get a feel for how the sound changed throughout the years. Than just listen to the ones that really stuck out to you.

Though, I would recommend Close To The Edge. It's one of the best Yes albums.

So I checked out all of Yes's work and I like everything from Yes to Relayer :) Everything after that was a bit of a drag for me, they are pretty decent not as great as Genesis or Pink Floyd but at least their listenable.
