I did own Lodger, 1.Outside and Young Americans once. All were quite hit and miss. I also had Hours and I thought it was extremely boring - but at least I think even most Bowie diehards agree with me on that one.

I'm arguably overdue for that. I know his most famous songs from that time, of course (have sung my way through a couple of them countless times in Singstar, even), but not the albums as such.

I suppose I'm due as well. I think I'm entering the right time frame of mind as I'm currently sinking into the Velvet Underground after weeks of pop, thrash, and death metal.

I just thought of something. Has anyone listened to Bowie's early material pre-Space Oddity? Actually, I'd go even before that weird album he recorded in 1967 too. He basically was playing mod music with various backup bands, notably, with the Lower Third and the Manish boys.

Just started it and luuuuuuuuuuulz I'm kinda trippin at just how much this reminds me of a proto-early Judas Priest. Rob Halford even sounded like him. Not sure why I should be surprised that Rob Halford of all people might have a Bowie fixation.

Yeah I tend to go all in on certain genres for a while too. I'm actually just starting to dive into a lot of pop this week.

Oh I'm getting to that one soon enough! She's on the list of pop singers I intend to go through. I'm actually expecting to like her better than a lot of the other big pop divas on the list. The ones I think I'll really hate are rather ones like Pink, Aguilera and Jesse J.
