This took me far too long to decide on (how could I leave out Grizzly Bear, Chromatics, Leonard Cohen...!) but here's my (rather arbitrary) list.
1. Kendrick Lamar // good kid, m.A.A.d city 2. Frank Ocean // channel ORANGE 3. Fiona Apple // The Idler Wheel... 4. Flying Lotus // Until the Quiet Comes 5. Grimes // Visions 6. Godspeed You! Black Emperor // 'Allelujah! Don't Bend! Ascend! 7. Tame Impala// Lonerism 8. Death Grips // The Money Store 9. Swans // The Seer 10. Beach House // Bloom Provided this is from a list of around 150 albums I listened to from this year, this was difficult.

Yeah I know we're supposed to limit ourselves to 10 but that's boring IMO because you end up seeing the same 25 albums 85% of the time.

Ascend! 02.)Chelsea Wolfe - Unknown Rooms Dark Folk at it's finest, would have walked away with first place if GY!BE hadn't released a great comeback. 03.)Converge - All We Love We Leave Behind 04.)Neurosis - Honor Found in Decay 05.)Mars volta - Noctourniquet 06.)First Aid Kit - the lions Roar 07.)Mark Lanegan - Blues Funeral 08.)Swans - the Seer 09.)Grizzly Bear - shields 10.)Earth - Angels of Darknes Demons of Light 2 11.)Jk Flesh - Posthuman Justin Broadrick returning to full on industrial=awesomeness 12.)DZ Deathrays - Bloodstreams like DFA1979 with less energy but more experimentation. 13.)Om - Advaitic songs 14.)Punch Brothers - Who's Feeling Young Now? the Radiohead of Bluegrass. They bring experimentation and new life to a tired genre. 15.)Mewithoutyou - Ten Stories 16.)Rolo Tomassi - Astraea Great dynamic/experimental metalcore, they're definitely earning a place next to the greats of the genre - Converge/Dillinger Escape Plan/Zao 17.)Davids Lyre - picture of our youth Don't really know what to call this, really solid folkish songwriting with arrangements heavy on electronics and rare instruments. 18.)Daniel Rossen - Silent Hour / Golden Mile 19.)Niki & The Dove - Instinct The most "pop" album I've found myself liking since I was a child, the fact that it's even on my list shows how great it is-part of me really doesn't want to admit it's good, but it really is. 20.)AU - Both Lights The schizophrenic inbred offspring of Grizzly Bear, Beirut, and Animal Collective. 21.)A Place To Bury Strangers - Worship 22.)IN THIS MOMENT - Blood I know a lot of you are probably rolling your eyes at this one, at first glance they come off as 4th gen nu metal, but give it a closer listen- they're doing some really interesting stuff here. 23.)Pig Destroyer - Book Burner 24.)Circa Survive - Violent Waves 25.)Neil Young and Crazy Horse - Psychidelic Pill EP's 1.)Mr Gnome - Softly Mad 2.)Burial - Kindred 3.)A Place To Bury Strangers - Onwards To The Wall 4.)How To Destroy Angels - An Omen

TNGHT-ep has some PHAT ass beats
I like my list wouldnt change much maybe add some dubstep on there X KORE UKF but yall would flame me 4 that LOL Kill devil hill & BLues control deserve #11 and #12 i guess still tho KILLBOT MElts my SOul |
