Madonna's first album (1983) actually had a bit of NYC-based Early 80's Hip Producer Pop flavor to it. I remember liking a few of the songs on that one if not the whole thing. After that, the sounds went Big 80's Video Pop, and I was done.

I used to be really into these poppunk bands like Sum41 Blink182 and of course Green Day and I also thought Linkin Park and Guns N Roses were amazing.

The thing is, I used to be a huge Green Day fanboy in my early and mid teens. I own every album on cd and used to listen to it almost every night. However, I never got the opportunity to go to a concert and see them live.

Now, in my early twenties, I have broaden my horizon and enjoyed many other bands and almost never listen to Green Day anymore. However, last year I got the opportunity to go to a concert and I went.

TBO, I wish I went earlier. Their show was very good and with a lot of spirit. But clearly was directed towards a younger audience. Also the songs that used to really get to me, now just didn't do it for me anymore. Still nice to see that band that I adored for a few years, but I'll let next time pass.

Not sure if I already posted on here, but I use to love Hillary Duff as a kid. I would've been like, nine, though. Around the same time, the Shrek 2 soundtrack was basically in the car throughout all of elementary school. I don't think that's the point of the thread.

More recently, I use to like what I had heard of Attack! Attack! a couple years ago, even if that was only a few songs. I bought a AA album a while back, got one track in, and never bothered to listen to it ever again. Not entirely sure what I was thinking.

Back then I also thought Suffocation was the best extreme metal ever. I mean, I still like Suffocation, but not as much. They've been essentially replaced with Messhuggah.

Band that got me serious about rock music around five years ago. People seem to be bringing them up a lot. I still think they're amazing, IMO. Yesterday was Appetite's 25th, so I took a listen. I remember that as a preteen, I use to listen to that album and fantasize about being Slash. It was embarresing to figure out I kind of still do. XD

It is so sad to me that Nicki is nothing that I thought she could actually be. She is now making music for money and that is a great shame.

I can see a return to Green Day some time in a few years. I'm not the biggest listener to them, but they have a good legacy that's easy to return to after resting from a lot of listening. Maybe not Sum or Blink (I always considered Blink 182 to be a bit annoying), but Green Day have their major place in Pop Punk, especially through their first few recordings, the first two albums through Lookout. I hope the new stuff returns them to favor, though.

Then maybe she should shave it herself.

I dunno. I don't like Nicki, but that story sounds like a crock.

But what's not a crock is that she kept fans waiting, played a short setlist, and lip-synched her way through it.
