any difference in Canadian version CDs?

hey, is there any difference sound-wise (mastering/mixing, sound quality etc.) between US retail Cd versions and Canadian ones? someone told me Canadian CDs have 10% less mixing, is that even possible?

Canadian CDs are about 20 times thicker than US CDs, are black, have no hole and can withstand being smacked around by hockey sticks for hours on end.
