Do you ever just sit down and listen to the music alone?

That's exactly what I was thinking... When I listen to music that's really good, I'm unable to do anything else because the music is so fantastic!
I mean... Why do we listen to music? I've never understood how something so emotionally engaging can be half ignored...

I wonder if this is just a musician's point of view.

All you need is a program to split it, f.ex Medieval Cue Splitter.

Will that split FLAC files? My cousin sent me a few albums in FLAC format, and they are all one track.

Surf the web, watch TV (sometimes it's music TV), eat, read, exercise, drive. Not all at once :) I usually prefer not to listen to music while talking.

This. I can't just have background music. Music either uses all of my brain or none of it. A lot of the time I just put on an album and kick back and listen ^^

when i jam out, i usually am:
singing
dancing
surfing the web
playing video games

sometimes i make music/gaming marathons just 4 myself. i pick some of my fav games, and i jam to thier theme songs, or any song that discribes the game, while i play. like, if i am playing Sonic and the secret rings, i listen to Nightcore 1001 arabian nights, and Seven Rings in hand.

(A word of advice, ALWAYS listen to Eiffel 65: Blue, while playing a Sonic game. it ROX!)

Drinking, writing, doodling, or smoking a cig and soaking it all in.

YES!

When I listen to music, I listen to music and do nothing else.
I'll put the record on, sit down in the stereo speaker sweet spot, close my eyes and just listen on my own.
No headphones or earbuds, proper full size speakers only.

I believe to really hear and enjoy the music you MUST not do anything else or think of anything else and do it alone.
By closing your eyes and concentrating on the music the experience is fully immersive and you hear more!
You don't listen with your eyes. Having your eyes open is a distraction.

I believe this is the ONLY way to truly listen to music and get the most out of it.
