100 Greatest "Music Scenes" in Movies
I found this list in Youtube, and aside from a handful of omissions I can think of, it's a pretty great list:
What do you guys think? |
Reservoir Dogs. You know which scene.

Some scenes I think were missing: Aladdin - A Whole New World (I think it's better than The Lion King one) The Outsiders - Gloria Platoon - Tracks of My Tears probably more that I can't think of |
Wow. Every single one that came to mind was on there..
Had to laugh at a few of them though... I remember those scenes in 10 Things I Hate About You, Little Miss Sunshine, Pretty In Pink, etc. Oh and Office Space for the smashing the printer scene LOL. & I noticed Donnie Darko - I'd been trying to figure out where I heard the song Under the Milkyway for ages, haha. Some I like that weren't on the list: Slumdog Millionaire - Paper Planes (MIA) 127 Hours - Lovely Day (Bill Withers) Seeking a Friend for the End of the World - The Air that I Breathe (The Hollies) 13 Going on 30 - Thriller (Michael Jackson) :D |
How was this not the first thing posted?
America **** yeah-team america - YouTube *sorry I can't find a clip of the movie playing this...keep running into copyright this and clip removed that.... |
Only one from This Is Spinal Tap? Well that just won't do! Plus they forgot one of my favourites:
|
I'm guessing this isn't in it but this is mine....
|
I watched the video, but skipped some parts and I think that this one also wasn't there

Yeah, sorry, I watched it again now, but the extract was too short and I must have skipped it.
And I noticed a couple of mistakes. On 3:13 it's not Dooley Wilson's "As Time Goes By", but "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" by the Righteous Brothers. And on 10:19 it isn't Marvin Gaye's "I Heard it through the grapevine", but "Ain't Too Proud To Beg" by The Temptations. And here's two great music scenes: Ace Ventura - Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face - a very funny scene Apocalypse Now - Rolling Stones - Satisfaction |
Nice list, but then I'm not really one for nice lists. A few clips I can relate to, of course, but about half. I think there was a mistake in a song credit for a Top Gun clip.
Second edit... Like the "Que Sera Sera" moment, this was something from a non-musical film, but this clip is more my style. Note the influence it had on a number of music videos including Oasis' "Live Forever." |
Selma Hayek at her finest yes?
|
|
I'm not even a big watcher of Antonioni, but there are a couple of scenes that are worth mentioning. In a way, this captured the Swinging London setting of Blow Up perfectly in a couple of great minutes. |

besides pretty much every Tarantino and Sergio Leone music scene here's 10 off the top of my head:
|
What about the ice scene from "Edward Scissorhands" or practically everything in "Run Lola Run"? Or even "Stripes"?

I don't have a link, but there is a scene in Shame (w. Michael Fassbender) where the main characters sister sings for him and a friend at a night club. The scene is loaded with meaning and it's pretty damn touching in the context of the movie.
|
All I see is live action scenes. Let me change it up a bit, by adding some animated ones. :p:
Ghost in The Shell (1995) 5 Centimeters Per Second (Music fits perfectly in this one) Cowboy Bebop :The Movie (this one is an action scene) |
The scene were Beethoven is describing the mind of the composer in Immortal beloved.
|
Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) - Song used: Giuseppe Verdi - Dies Irae
"I am the scales of justice!!! I am the Conductor of the Choir of Death!!!" |
Like 99 out of the 100 of these movies were American. What about:
|
|
The Replacement Killers (1998) - Song used: Ithaka - Escape From The City Of Angels
|
|
The church scene in Kingsmen with The Eagles playing in the background... Loved it!
