zevokes' compendium of percussive acoustic guitar videos!

i just posted a video in the "stuff that is awesome" thread of a guy named jon gomm playing his guitar kinda like a guitar, and kinda like a drum. over the past four or five years i've come to love the hybridized take on the instrument and basically thought i'd drop some space on the internet for a collection to form. there are so many different people doing it so many different ways and maybe we can get EVERY SINGLE PERCUSSIVE ACOUSTIC GUITAR VIDEO ON EARTH INTO ONE THREAD. got a little excited there.

here is a re-post of said jon gomm video, for those of you who don't know his stuff and/or have no idea what i', talking about. enjoy, and do post.

and meet ben howard. i don't think this is on his albums, so if you don't know him and like this a bunch, don't expect to find it. i haven't listened to his second album yet, but his first is called Every Kingdom and front to back is... good.

pretty mellow, but real groovy.

It`s fascinating to watch these guys perform : I especially liked the Boogie Shred one, and the last guy. Not sure how often I`d want to listen to just the music, though.
Anyway, here`s a performance you might enjoy.(Thanks to Petula07, who unfortunately no longer posts here):-

i'd have to agree. i think an album full of this stuff wouldn't really do it for me, but i get pretty excited when i find a new one that i can watch a few times just to see the creativity flow. i wish i had the time (and a good enough instrument) to dedicate to learning how to do it. it's a neat little world to get into from the perspective of a drummer and lover of groove.

anyway, found another one which is pretty decent. his left hand seems to either drop a half note here and there or drastically speed up the tempo at times. nonetheless, pretty groovy.
