Dubstep as rebellion against pop music

Every generation has a music that's a "Rebellion" against Pop Music even if said style just happens to be a part of the Pop world of the moment. The biggest mistake is to like something as a "rebellion against Pop", which is an attitude that usually leads to quick burnout after a while and especially when it fades away from popularity or notice. You either connect with it or not. Sadly, the hyper-competitive attitude is confusing things a hell of a lot and this just may die out very quick.

Actually, a good amount of the small amount I heard sounds like nice fast paced Synth music with New Wave and 90's roots with added attitude with the quiet bits sounding like pretty cool Sci-Fi soundtrack music. This is not a bad thing, just a opinion from someone who was from the Early 80's and surrounded around Electronic music. Maybe I can throw in mentions of Disco and Electronic based 80's Porn Music.

It's possible that this may not go away fast, but possibly evolve in one way or another. This has encouraged a lot of people to create music themselves on a fully Independent level. Although the scene looks very over-crowded, there's bound to be a few good artists to rise above the crap.

It's too early to say anything about it staying around longer than a few years, but it's good to have something that looks towards the future even on a Pop Culture level. I'm not a major listener to it, but it's interesting to see where it goes.

I also agree. Sadly, there are not that many who are willing to take some time to actually know Electronic Music history.
