QUESTION FOR AMERICANS: What are your thoughts on the new British Invasion of UK musi
Hi, my name is Andy and I am conducting a dissertation on the new UK invasion of British music acts upon the American music market and would like to know how the subject is perceived in America. Artists such as Adele, One Direction, Jessie J and The Wanted are all making a name for themselves in the US and I would just like to hear from American fans of popular music, who would be willing to discuss how these acts are relating overseas. If you would prefer to email me, my address is andy_colman@hotmail.com.
Any contributions would be much appreciated :) |
Honestly...
I don't think Americans are aware or even care that some artists they like are from another country. The actual thought of being a foreigner doesn't enter their minds and it's a non issue. If you were asking us this 50 years ago I'd say you'd have yourself a healthy discussion. Americans now just want outrageous flavored doritos and TV shows about celebrities jumping off diving boards. |

Thanks for your reply! So you would say that it is not so much about the music these days and just whatever is popular? |
I've never been so ashamed to be half British.

If I was talking about Canada why would I go to a thread about British music?
