Elton Jumps Ship To Capitol And Records New Album
I recently read that Elton John is going to bring out a new album on the Capitol label his first new album in ages...........Who here thinks he will dig down deep and bring out something interesting?

When declaring something (such as Elton moves to Capital Records), it's always nice to have a supporting link for verification.
Elton John Goes off the Deep End on New Album | Stop The Presses! (NEW) - Yahoo! Music That was all I could find, but didn't really search that much. As for him digging down deep... well: Quote:

I totally understand that. On a coding forum I frequent, when people ask how to do something, most of the more skilled and wiser members will point them in the right direction instead of just throwing out the code for them to copy/paste. I was merely making a suggestion. Most people are on autopilot, and if you want feedback you'd do better here to just give them the fish.

I don't even like fish, so I am screwed either way.

If you check any of the current threads people are interacting all the time. Just not too many people are that interested in Elton, maybe better in the pop section? But the interaction here is second to none, you just need to be interested in the subject. Have you visited the Lounge? |
It will be interesting to see what comes out, never been a big fan though i liked his earlier work. However on Kate Bush last outing he put in a great vocal performance which i found to be one of the best i had heard from him.
Some artists mature well ,like Robert Plants work of late. |
I just hope that he does not chalk it full with celebrity duets, or some nonsense.....

Artists like Elton have a hard (if not impossible) time of hitting the stride they were capable at their prime. Elton recently wrote a book that got poor reviews
I hope his new album doesn't suffer the same fate. (tried to post a fish, but i'm too new and the boards wont let me) |

Elton Jumps Ship...
"I'm not gonna be kicking Nicki Minaj off the charts, but I'm just making records that are valuable to me"
Brilliant to read a quote like that. He's doing that the fully right way. So much respect for the man. Idol! Spare the aggression to air-folk, definitely a great musician to consider a role model - and his future music sounds like it'll be more influential than "just a pop album". Still got it. |
