Is this crazy rare? Or am I crazy dumb?
 

I recently bought Creedance Clearwater Revival's Chronicle album, the 20 greatest hits. I was listening to it tonight with the fiance, and when i went to flip side 1 i noticed that the opposite side was side 4, and not side 2 as i expected. I have other multiple record albums and compilations, and none of them are like this. they are all as you would expect, one record has side one and two the other has three and four. This album is split differently with sides 1 and 4 on one and 2 and 3 on the other.

The way I see it, (which could be completely wrong) is that this could potentially be a mispressing, and that could potentially be very rare, could it not? Or is this simply how this album was done.

Is it vinyl, tape, 8 track or a CD? Because if it is vinyl it may done so you can "stack" the LPs one on top of the other and play them in order like side one then side two and after the completion of of side two get up and flip them over and then listen to side three and side four in order. That is if your phonograph player has that long thingy in the middle and the arm thingy that stabilizes the LP when are stacked and it automatically release another record after the prior one is done. I don't think it was a miss print, maybe some guy at the record factor brainstormed the day they were press and thought wouldn't it be grand if I could listen to side one then side two instead of listening to side one then side three or four depending how they are stacked.

ahh, i see. i do not have a record player that would allow me to stack the Vinyls. the center spindle is not long enough, and there is no mechanism to release a record after playing. but i suppose all that would make sense.

Do you remember ever seeing a spindle adapter for 45s, not the checker piece shaped disc with the center drilled out nor the triskelion shape thing that you have to gingerly place into the center of a 45 - a mere impossible task, but the cylinder shape thing that fitted over the "spindle?"
