I don't think there's any compelling psychological evidence to support that claim, but if you've got it, I'd love to see it.

I heard something similar to this topic in my music cognition class, but I think it was just the theory. I'm going to look in the textbook.

I think what it is is an oversimplification of complex cognitive processes. There's likely a grain of truth in in somewhere, but I know that for higher-order thinking, the brain is not actually cleaved into the logical and creative halves that pop-psychology has led us to believe.
