Emergency On Planet Earth is their best album by far.

Same for me, there seems to be a new style each album really. However, apparently this is similar to the last one.

then it should be good...they're playin' in croatia in about 10 days...i'm thinkin of goin'...but it's in a sorta steril enviroment ( an ancient roman arena ) where people tend to sit, and their music is for dancin' so i don't know how it will turn out....

Dynamite is damn good. They've done some awesome stuff (Blow Your Mind etc), but there always seem to be a couple of clangers on every album they've released so far. Not so with this release. I was rather underwhelmed by Feels Just Like it Should, but it's probably one of the weakest tracks on the album. Why they decided to release it as a single remains a mystery...Dynamite, Starchild and Seven Days are standouts, but every track hits the mark this time 'round. Tight.

adidasss 07-22-2005 12:49 PM

cool...thanks for the info!
feels just like it should did sound kinda weak...good to know it's one of the weaker tracks....

OK sorry...I have to pIss on yet another parade here...Like the 5th on tonight, but Jaysis Lordy Jamariquai are the most unholy piece of crap Ive ever come across...White boy funk CAN work (Beck, new White Stripes) but JayKay is just an annoying teddy-bear shagger who shouldnt be allowed see the light of day...

Heh heh too cruel???

TroutMolester 07-22-2005 09:10 PM

I'd always assumed their singer was a big black woman, so it's fair to say I was a little surprised when I saw a little white guy singing in their music video.

Jay Kay may be an annoying twat in person, I really don't know, but his ridiculous collection of hats, Ferraris and spastic dance moves are highly amusing.

you can't piss on my parade...if i like it you can't change it.....the same thing is with the bravery...everybody hates them but i think they're awsome...

The Indie Bar Kid 07-23-2005 07:11 AM

I love the Bravery though... Everyone just hates them as a scapegoat...Guarantee if they came out before the Killers theyd be as big as they are right now

Wow, this must be the oldest topic anyone's ever kicked ;D.

I like Jamiroquai. Why is no one here interested in his work?
I'm really disappointed by his latest album, but I think he did some rather amazing stuff.

There's something about Jamiroquai that seems to work in this country.
He's really appreciated amongst people who usually listen to 'heavy guitar music'.
He somehow fits in that scene :)

Jay Kay is a prick and he never stretches himself musically. Content to trade off an easy 70's Stevie Wonder template.

However I do like Jamiroquai and they are a guilty pleasure for me. Blow Your Mind is a perfect example of how good they can be.

I absolutely love Jamiroquai. I mean, check out this bass line:

Glad I'm not the only one.
There once was some sort of album of music that inspired Jamiroquai.
Didn't like any of the songs on it. But JQ somehow works :).

Sophiesmom 11-29-2010 01:22 PM

I love JQ!!! It bring me back to junior high!

PapercutCheeto 11-30-2010 08:18 PM

Great album. Turner is an animal!

docfunkenstein 11-30-2010 09:49 PM

i got acouple of thier early albums (return of the space cowboy, trvelling without moving) which i really dig. then i heard a funk odyssey and some other post-2000 songs... just didn't do it for me, i think the band just really lost its charisma. maybe i'll try another album..

Seltzer 12-01-2010 04:48 AM

As much as I like Jamiroquai's basslines, I quickly tire of their music... it's sort of the same with Incognito too.

My flatmate can play that bassline, and pretty well if I might say so myself :p:
