Reverbnation Vs. Soundcloud Vs. Bandcamp Vs. MySpace- Which Is Best?
 

Hey there everyone. I already have a Reverbnation for my music project and record label, but I'm not sure if Reverbnation is the best decision. So for those of you who are experienced with them, which one would you recommend the most? Or would I just be better off making a website?

Facebook, hell I don't know.

Reverbnation is great for up and coming artists, they offer a lot of oppurtunities to submit to like shows, webcasts, and the like.

Soundcloud is great and is easy to share, but its hard to really get noticed on. My band has had ups and downs on the cloud, weeks of heavy consistent plays and then a month of abscence where we get next to nothing.

I use Soundcloud and I find it user-friendly and effective enough in being a platform to share and expose others to your music. It's also very easy to embed tracks onto other sites or platforms from Soundcloud. I like it :)

Soundcloud is a must, for sake of easy embedding and shareability. ReverbNation I'm sure has a great community for getting recognized, though I've never been around it much myself. Skip Myspace. And Bandcamp's really only ideal for being linked to from other sites so that people can purchase your tunes.

Yeahh soundcloud is awesome, I love it. It's really easy to upload, share your stuff. A lot of really great musicians can be found on there too, I find a lot of cool artists thanks to it.

I just think Reverbnation is a little better on the promotional front. For instance, last month they had a open submission for any band to open up for Pennywise and Sublime with Rome; so we submitted not thinking much would come of it.

So the winner was announced a few days later and no we didn't win but we're in the top 10 out of 2000+ bands and it def gave us some heavy traffic after they shouted us out on their facebook page.

Soundcloud is awesome, user friendly, easy to upload. But you cant arrange your uploads as you want, you have to subscribe to the pro option to get that feature i didnt like that but overall its good.

Bandcamp just reminds me of sticky flutes and therefore my affiliations are torn.

Reverb does not offer the flexibility I would like over the distribution of my music, but it is a great tool for first time albums. Ditto music has caught my eye recently, as another option for obtaining those all important isrc codes, without having to have your tracks played on spotify for a penny a pop.
I have sold a few albums via bandcamp and can keep all of the profits, but my tunes are not automatically cataloged on the international database as they are with Reverbnation distribution.
I did not know you could charge people to download via soundcloud. I have only one track on Soundcloud, and it's never had much attention.

I like Bandcamp because you can easily charge for tracks.
