It's subjective. There's no way for anybody to tell you what the greatest album is because you may or may not think the same thing.

I assume you're talking about my pick, yeah I wasn't really serious as damn few people would agree, but the other side of that coin is that I absolutely love SfSL, on the basis that it is IMO the most aggressively STUPID album ever made. It's fecking beautiful.

FRED HALE SR. 08-29-2013 04:15 PM

[Smell the glove.] Even with the gloriously missing Lick my love pump it was an oddysey of musical brilliance seldom seen on Plantet Earth.

That one's great as well but I was referring to Metal Machine Music.

No matter what his intentions were I still really like the music. It is a landmark noise album, and that's a genre that I'm very fond of.

Noise music is something I don't think I'll ever understand tbh but I see the point you're making.

I heard track 1 from MMM last night and it'literally is just noise to me.

It definitely is. I think that as well as Lou Reed's continuation of the idea with the Metal Machine Trio show that there is a sense of seriousness to MMM, even though it was a whopping middle finger in some senses.

Yup, for this kid of thing greatest simply means "favorite." :)

I go back and forth between "Electric Ladyland" and "Dark Side of the Moon." I think Hendrix takes it by a nose.

This is the greatest work ever. I never get tired of this work in my opinion. They have great songs done in Tshiluba, French, Lingala, and Swahili all once in one work. My second idol Pepe KALLE made some great songs. I love African Music (J'aime musique du Africaine; Nampenda muziki wa Afrika; Nalingi muziki ya Afrika). Pepe Kalle was the star of this work and I don't anyone who made quite diverse in one work like Pepe. Rest in Peace Pepe, you will always be remembered in my heart.

Paradise Theater

Paradise Theater by Styx is, in my opinion, the best album ever. The album art is awesome because it corresponds with the whole theme of the album. There isn't a bad song on this album and they all tell the story of the Paradise Theater.

It's a great concept album but both The Grand Illusion and Pieces of Eight are better albums.

Melon-Collie and the Infinite Sadness
What i'll say today, though tomorrow I'd probably pick something different. The album is a journey, and so stylistically diverse it's hard to get wore out on, not to mention even it's worst tracks are better than 75% of other bands best stuff.

Any album released by nirvana, but theres also so many genres and tastes

Yes, by a fairly wide margin too.

This album is actually my everything. Growing up it was my go to in turmoil and ten years later it still is so beautiful and poignant to me.

6- and 12-String Guitar etched out some of my other all time favorite instrumental albums like Duane Eddy's Have 'Twangy' Guitar Will Travel; The Ventures' Walk, Don't Run; Steve Howe's The Steve Howe Album; and W. Carlos' Switched-On Bach. I don't know where it will fall if I had to write out a list. And I don't listen to it all the time, but it always gives me the feeling it is one of the greatest albums ever recorded when I do.
