What the fu??

I had to get this off my chest. I was looking over the punk forum and...Why the fu?? do people who listen to MXPX, Anti-Flag,The Used,Pennywise and the likes think they are experienced punk rockers? What the fu?? They should not be on any site talking about music PERIOD. Jesus! That's all.

you will also notice that people also talk about bands like the ramones, the clash, the sex pistols, the dead kennedys, and numerous other punk bands.

mxpx and antiflag are simply variations of the genre.....and if you cant accept the fact all music has sub genres and those sub genres have their own.....then you sir, are the one that shouldnt be talking about any music on any site.

Amen to that... Why is everyone being so uptight about genres? Why is it so important to pidgeon hole bands into a catagory? If you don't think those bands are punk, thats fine. Does it really matter if they are or aren't? No. They are music, and thats all that matters. <<<>>> (which isan't even a name), shut up with your whining and quit complaining. If you think you and your bands are so much better than everyone else, thats your issue, but keep it to yourself. Lets try to have a little more conversation about music, and less about who does or doesn't fit into some genre. Its pointless...

eat ****. who the hell are you come on here telling everyone what they can and cant talk about. since you seem to think you know sooo much about what good music is, tell me, what in your opinion is "good punk".

thank you both. you see, <<<>>>, these are people that deserve respect. now do us all a favor and never post a thread like this again.

i apologize for my post, my actions were out of anger and not all things were considered in my mind at the time. I am normally a very zen person and love music in general and believe that any genre or sub-genre, if done right, can be brilliant no matter how simple or complex it is. You see, I was on some punk chat room asking around about any good punk bands that i might not have come across yet, but the only responses i was getting was MXPX and Anti_Flag, who ive already given a chance and I just dont like it. I find it annoying and uninspiring, that'sjust my opinion. Surely you can understand. I don't think I am an allknowing music listener and don't believe that's even possible, but I am trying to learn as much as possible about it. I didn't mean to set everyone off. Please forgive me fellow music banterers.

all is forgiven. weve all lashed out irrationally in anger, me especially. nofx is good punk by the way. pump up the valium is, in my opinion, their best cd.

If you're looking for new bands, create a topic in the punk forum. You are guaranteed to get plenty of good suggestions.
Also, those 4 bands specifically are not currently getting much exposure in the punk forum. Even if they were, you could create new topics or bring back old ones to level out the playing field.

If you were looking over the Punk forum, why not put this thread in the Punk forum?

This thread was from 2005... That's like, twenty years in internet time. I'm sure they're long gone.
