Also Hold On We're Going Home Lyrics - Drake
I have never heard this song but I read those lyrics. Seems like there's still some pretty cliched pop lyrics out there, eh? |
Yes lyrics are usually in a league of their own, I think - not so much pseudo profound as inscrutable. For me, sometimes the words are intriguing just because they´re so inexplicable. This is just my idea of good Yes and bad Yes, all in one song:-
The good:- Quote:

"Now many moons and many Junes have passed us by.."
Just noticed that even arguably one of the greatest rock lyricist ever, Keith Reed (from Procol Harum) was brave enough to rhyme moon-June. Still A Salty Dog is one of the greatest songs ever. There's something unexplainable great about it. |

Back on topic, nothing Beefheartian about these songs:- Tonight Tonight by New Kids On The Block Tonight I´m Loving You by Enrique Iglesias and Tonight I´m Getting Over You by Carly Rae Jepson |
Tonight I'll Be Staying With You - Bob Dylan (even Dylan has done this)
|
Thanks, Taxman! Another one that didn´t occur to me!

The best song about tonight.
And a recent offender of the "stars above you" cliche. |
Also I'll Be Your Baby Tonight - Bib Dylan
There'll Be Good Rocking Tonight- Elvis Presley This Man He Weeps Tonight- The Kinks |
Oasis- Talk Tonight
Beach Boys- With Me Tonight CCR- Hey Tonight Paul McCartney- Dance Tonight There's probably many more too. |
