Default Looking for tips

First of all, I'm not great with words. I'm not quite sure how to explain what it is that I'm looking for but hopefully I can give you guys a rough idea and with your combined vast knowledge of music you can give me some suggestions.

Okay, so a quick story. I was watching a movie a few years back called "A Bronx Tale" (worth a watch if you haven't seen it). In one of the fight scenes they used the Beatles song "Come Together". I knew the song before seeing the movie, but I never would have thought of using it in this way, ever since seeing this movie, any time I hear this song I keep thinking about how bad ass it is, which is kind of strange because I had never felt that way about it before. The first video I'm linking to is that scene from "A Bronx Tale"

Anyway, I'm looking to make a playlist of songs like this, songs that either just sound "bad ass" (apologies as I can't think of another way to phrase it) or songs that are literally about retribution, vengeance, etc Anything dark or with ghostly lyrics would also be appreciated (even if it doesn't directly relate to vengeance or retribution)

I would like to stay clear of rap and any form of heavy metal if possible (I'm a fan of both but hopefully when you see the list of songs I have so far, you'll get an idea of what I'm after)

I am aware that a lot of these are dependent on the context, for example House of the Rising Sun is a cover (which I'm sure a lot of you know) but due to the small changes and the tone of the song (and the fact that it was used in a show about a biker gang) it feels more "bad ass" than the original.

The songs don't have to be technically awe-inspiring or anything.

An idea of what I'm looking at...
