PDF Sheet Music Scan, Transpose Software / App

My wife and I play lots of Old Time Music, she hammered dulcimer, me clawhammer banjo and fiddle. She has more difficulty playing by ear, so I have stored about 400 tunes in pdf form on her iPad (basically just the melodies). Occasionally, however, we'd like to play some of these tunes in other keys, e.g., A rather than G, and I'd like to spare myself the chore of transposing tunes by hand and literally writing them out.

Is there a good, reliable software program or app that can "scan" a sheet music pdf file and then transpose the sheet music (actually just melody) to another key? Thanks for any ideas.

I think you may need to use Twain Scanner which can scan pdf and transform scanned pdf to other digital applications.
