South African music

There has been a massive resurgence from the South African music community over the last few years and there are now more bands and artists in that country than ever before. One thing we are not seeing is a major impact in the world outside Africa, even after the movie Waiting For Sugarman brought a spotlight to South Africa.
Is this community hearing more from South African musicians, and does the music of South Africa interest you enough to go out and find it?
