What's your price limit for albums?
Yeah, what is it? Do you only buy CDs that cost less than 15 dollars? Do you allow yourself to pay more for vinyl than cassettes?
Since everything's so goddamned expensive here, paying what's approximately 28 American dollars for one CD is totally normal. I'd say that's my limit, but I go for the cheaper ones if possible. Oh, mods, can you please move this to the general music forum? I placed it here by mistake. |
I justify paying up to $10, $17 depending on if the material on the album is worth the price. With the more or less slow out put of good music still present. I haven't really paid for an album since 2012 or so, aside from spread out between that year and this one.
I'm for the most part, strictly a supporter of the underground and unsigned bands that push out material independently, or by means of those independent labels that let bands do whatever they need to do. I've never purchased a vinyl. I'm a virgin. |
I won't pay more than $7 for a CD which is why I only buy at thrift stores or online. I was at a local music store and they wanted $13.99 for a used CD. A Used CD!!!

It depends on how much material is on the CD. $1.50 a song is about where I stand if it's a physical CD just because of the extra packaging and art that comes with it.

Depends how old the CD it is. I'm fine with paying fifteen for one of the recent Beatles or Beach Boys remasters, because the sound quality is incredible, they have thick liner notes, and in the BB case, both mono and stero. Otherwise, nothing over ten dollars unless it's a double album. I have a good deal going with my local used CD place where if I can trade 3:2. The price is generally $5-7 for a single in good condition.

In all honesty, it comes down to how much I'm getting for my money. Here's an example: I was at a Best Buy, and Tech N9ne's album "Strangeulation" was in stock, both normal and deluxe. I checked out what I was getting for both, and the deluxe version costed an entire $7 USD more, and the only thing 'deluxe' about it was an additional 2 songs and a collector's coin. $20 USD for 2 more songs and a coin just didn't seem like a good deal to me, so I got the standard for $13 USD.

If I really like the album I'll pay ten dollars for a CD. I would pay a lot more for vinyl, though. I'd pay up to 30 dollars depending on the album.
|
Really, guys? 10 dollars? It's perfectly normal to pay two or three times that price for ONE CD over here.

my limit for a digital copy is 20 euro's.

I drop 10 bucks a month on Spotify. I haven't paid for an album in years like not since 2000 . I stopped collecting records because I had to sell my collection. |
