South African music on the rise!

I believe my country is making some great music. Interested to see what you guys think? Have you heard any tunes from SA? who? rating?

To get the blog started:

December streets is a local band in PTA South Africa that just released a new track and video, such a sweet track. There are hundreds of bands just like them in South Africa. Anybody heard of them?

cough* Speaking from exsperience, as in having been to Africa twice, the music is not anything to write home about.

Not South Africa though? Seems weird to judge South Africa's music based on that.

I have heard.

You should be aware Miriam Makeba. She is one of the best artists in South Africa as well as the whole Africa.

Metal band Seether are from South Africa and they have probably had more international success than any other South African Band. Their biggest hit is probably "Broken" the duet with Amy Lee (Evanescence).

Though it's not current, Trevor Rabin was one of South Africa's biggest success stories. He was singer/guitarist for the '70s rock group Rabbitt and in the early '80s he helped reform the British prog. band Yes and his writing and musicianship helped create Yes's most successful album, 90123 in 1983. I like to call Rabin South Africa's guitar hero because he plays a lot of flash solos, sounding a bit like American guitar hero Steve Vai.

My favourite South African album is eVoid's self titled album from 1983. eVoid, so I've read, were South Africa's biggest band for a time. The album wasn't an international success, but it has a good original synth-pop sound.

She is one of the best artists in South Africa as well as the whole Africa. __________________ The problem with Franco Pepe Kalle is that he is a unpredictable character. There is surprising info about this man. You think he only likes Franco and Pepe Kalle but when you find out that he hears other artists, you are shock. Girls are the sexy thing that God created. Important to notice FPK.
