Winger - Karma

Yes, really. Kip and the boys never really did much for me in their heyday, but when I put this on just out of curiosity, since I'd heard good things about Reb Beach's guitar playing (I'm a big fan of Reb, btw), I was really stunned as to how much I enjoyed the entire album. The closing solo on the last song really solidified the deal when it pretty much brought me to tears. That solo just might be Reb's best guitar work to date.

White Suns - Totem
It'd only my first run through of the album and I can already see why people like it a lot it's insane, it's intense, completely ADD, free-form, and completely off the wall. Yet it just hurts so good, and I'm not even a masochist definitely check it out if you're into noise and noise rock.

Not sure if this qualifies:

Was browsing the internet years back and stumbled on a site that was offering up free downloads of songs by obscure artists in an effort to drum up full album sales. I downloaded this track from this band with a really unique name.

I was completely hooked after about 10 seconds and within 24 hours owned all of the groups albums. Went on a total binge and now consider the Beard one of the best prog bands of all time.

Peter Ivers - Terminal Love

I only gave Peter Ivers a try because a song of his (which wasn't even much to speak of musicaly) was featured in Eraserhead. When I saw this incredibly ****ty cover, I was almost sure the music would be terrible, but I found it awesome. Catchy, but still quite weird and experimental and very unique.

I'm currently listening to Pavarotti's greatest hits (or something to that effect) and I am enjoying it a lot.
