Maximalism?

Goofle 12-25-2014 05:42 PM

11ism?

Frownland 12-25-2014 05:47 PM

Whatever it is, at least we know it's not music. It's just yapping.

Mott The Hoople
Lynyrd Skynyrd (Even though I know the origin of this name)
The Eagles of Death Metal
Pearl Jam
Led Zeppelin (oxymoron that makes no sense)
My Chemical Romance
Aerosmith (A person who makes Aeros?)
Cheap Trick

None of these are confusing. Just odd.

Here're some ones I've found fairly odd or weird, though some of it may be do to my own ignorance or lack of understanding. What I think of each name is in brackets underneath each name.

Codex Alimentarius
(I'm not even gonna try to figure out what this means)

Mors Tua
(translated as "Your Death")

Transcending Bizarre?
(why, with the question mark at the end?)

Janvs
(do they have something against the letter "u?")

Lich King
(Supposedly they aren't named after that World of Warcraft character, but then what is their name about then?)

Bran Barr
(I'm sure this means something in either some real language or made up dialect. Maybe it's a name, but I can't help but picture a breakfast buffet serving cereals with lots of All Bran Buds or whatever after reading this name.)

Cirith Gorgor
(It's like Cirith Ungol and Gorgoroth had a lovechild)

Thorium
(is this supposed to be an element on the periodic table that was created by a Norse God?)

M8l8th
(I guess this may be a version of how you can spell out their name, because the Russian version which I'm pretty sure is their native language looks a fair bit different, but I have no idea where the 8s came into the picture.)

Go over like a lead balloon

Page decided to change it to Lead Zeppelin and use it as the bands name. Zeppelin's manager Peter Grant changed the spelling to Led to make sure it wasn't mispronounced as Leed.

Make more sense now?
