Awesome, virtually unknown artists you've stumbled upon?
Im one of the few people who actually listen to twitter/facebook artists and scroll through youtube/bandcamp/soundcloud to find juicy nuggets of unknown glory. Maybe you guys can post some awesome little known artist? (Links to work/music videos would be helpful) Ill start:
CoolSwim: makes alternative rap, with crazy beats and topics. I love weird music and this kid speaks to my weird sense of taste. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7mqoliCcvWs Neko Aijin: he got a few rap tapes that are pretty enjoyable, has a good ear for beats and makes alot himself. Also makes some cool chillwave style rap stuff and has a "trap music" alter ego which is hit or miss, but he has a nice instrumental chillwave inspired instrumental tape out. Good stuffs. https://nekosounds.bandcamp.com/album/dreamyy-artifacts Skategod: makes enjoyable street type music. Good for car rides and catchy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sr535rqgkRc Any good hidden gems guys? |
Bob and the Sagets, a ska punk band by some members od the Menzingers.

I think Porcelain Black is incredible, but for a pop act produced by RedOne she hasn't really been recognized as much as I would expect.

burnnnn!!! okay temiz BTW |
Found this psych rock power trio called Truth & Janey the other day that released a very unrecognized and underrated album called No Rest For The Wicked in 1976. They currently have under 5000 listeners on Last FM which is pretty remarkable considering the amount of time the record has had to float around online. For a band with production and songwriting skills this good their obscurity is kind of mysterious.

I never really listened to them. I just thought I would post them.
I get what you are saying. |

I started a similar thread, "Good Songs by Non-Famous Bands," back in 2011. You may enjoy listening to some of the lesser known songs posted in that thread: http://www.musicbanter.com/general-m...ml#post1111336 These are three of my favorite juicy nuggets of unknown glory, which I defined as songs that have fewer than 1,000 views on Youtube and no Wikipedia article about the bands or singers: A Brokeheart Pro (Jeannette Kantzalis) - "Bleed On" (Only 618 views on Youtube) I especially like her line, "I'm pretty sharp, so I'll cut to the quick." https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-t...yt-cl=84503534 And just in case you are wondering about who is singing that song, here are some pictures of Jeannette Kantzalis: Pointless google censor strikes again. Sigh.. http://www.mysteryisland.net/brokeheart2.jpghttp://i571.photobucket.com/albums/s...Jeannette2.jpg http://www.mysteryisland.net/brokeheart1.jpg The Thrill Collective - "Ink" (Only 335 views on Youtube) I heard this song for the first time in 2012 and wrote the following about it then: I enjoy its fast-paced energy, glittery guitar solos, competent playing, and the lead vocalist's strong, clear singing voice. The tune is catchy and has stuck in my mind, making it my favorite of their songs. I'm impressed with the band members' skill level, especially considering their youth. Kirsten Amy - "Unbelievable" (only 25 views!) Lovely Indian influences and she also has a *lovely* voice. Excellent. Only one note (her highest) was out of tune. https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-c...-ts=1421914688 EDIT: I just checked what new songs Kirsten Amy has recorded, and I felt this one is noteworthy: Kirsten Amy - "You Mars, I Saturn" |

I found this unknown album a while back that I really liked. Intense nostalgic feeling for me and comfy winter theme.

Hell, I'm part of that demographic and I only found them by accident. |
I'm not so sure, Abasi's been on the cover of a lot of guitar magazines, he's even Guitar World (which is pretty huge) multiple times.
