Any opinions on the rising scene of Vaporwave?

Has anyone looked and listened to the movement of Vaporwave extensively? I like it a bit but I'm having trouble accessing the genre somewhat. I prefer it from more an artistic point of view, with the cool visuals that come with it. I love that oldschool feel it has, and the weird curiosity with 80's and 90's culture, always been a fan of all things oldschool. If anyone has some recommendations on artists and tracks post them here.

http://i1.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/...yung-lean-.jpg This is an example of the kind of visual art and stuff, it's kinda cool and funny.

I didn't know this movement had a name but im familiar with those kind of graphics cause Tim & eric use them ALOT in their show..

This kinda of irreverent graphic style always appealed to me too cause it's like a collage of the 90's rehashed with today's ADD derpy humor sadly idk any artist in this genre i can recommend you.

i didn't even know it was called Vaporwave. :p:

It's funny that another person sees it as Tim and Eric esque humour, a music critic called Anthony Fantano described it just like that. That's why I love it. It's like a post ironic humour type thing now, and people are taking it more serious and are actually enjoying music that was once considered bad. Imagine like an infomercial from the early 90's, the music is strangely catchy

It will be interesting. I like some Vaporwave, but not all of it.

I've listened to a bit and my conclusion is for as much hate as it gets the artists make some damn good ambient music.

I'm not sure you can really call it a rising genre. It's been around for a while and is the latest in a long list of genres that make it their business to be impenetrable and hard to google in order to maintain word-of-mouth fanbases as opposed to last.fm trawling hipsters.

In so doing that makes it basically the most hipster thing ever.

It's not really got a potential mainstream future. It never did. It has no interest in "rising". It just is what it is.

Yeah it's pretty laughable. But I found enjoyment in there somewhat.

I've never extensively listened to Vaporwave, and I don't plan on it, but I've always loved this mash-up

You need to drop the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v= part and it will work then. At the moment, just a big white square.

The "yQzNZR-LXZc" part of the URL is the video's unique ID. The YouTube tags automate all of the embedding code, and you just need to put the video's ID in between the tags so they'll reference it. Like so:
