Where are people getting their mp3s from in 2015

Looked for a relevant thread, there were a few but none really seemed like they were worth digging up.

Hypothetically, if a young person's music download site of choice has recently been closed down by the internet police, where would his forum friends recommend he go to get his new album fix?

The young person may or may not have used mp3boo.com (or mp3crank.com) which offered a range of new and old albums and were particularly good with catering to user requests. No sign ups, just straightforward downloads of high quality mp3 albums.

Are there other sites that offer a similar service? Obviously these sites break several licensing laws and should not be used, but for reference, are there other sites where one could hypothetically get their music from?

Don't recommend me youtube converter.

Oh, I'll stick about for a wee while too as life has slowed down a bit, so I will ask this favour and also contribute to the forum. Good to be back.

Soulseek.

I remember downloading songs from sites like that back in middle school and whatnot, but have since grown up and download zip/rar files. Or use soulseek, which is simply the best tool to download music, ever.

mp3boo.com and crank did have all their files stored on third party sites and were all in rar and zip format.
They will be missed.

How exactly does Soulseek work?

You gotta download it and create a username/password, then it recommends that you share some of your own files. When you go to download something from there, it uploads from one user and downloads to a specified folder of your choice, or something like that.

I just know I've been able to find stuff on there that a simple internet search sometimes wouldn't even have any info about.

Nice one. I'll get on it. Thanks.

Same way I got it in 2010, Soulseek.

Search for the album/artist, then add "mega".

This is a cool torrent site too, if you can manage to sign up: BitTorrent RuTracker.org
