But...vocals are an instrument.

Yeah, but we don't think of them as such. If someone says what instruments do you play, and you don't, but you sing, you'd say none, but I sing. They're generally not looked on as a musical instrument. I find, anyway.

The voice is an instrument, mate, just like how rap can be music too.

i know what TH is saying tho. Like how we say music is "instrumental" when it doesnt contain vocals.

I understand that it's commonly not really considered an instrument, but when you boil it down to what makes an instrument it fits the bill.
