Will PM you

^ Thank you so much, Trollheart! That was a quick reponse.:thumb:

I noticed that LLDOB doesn't turn up on the MB Album Review Index, but I'm sure it has been reviewed somewhere here - chances are, in one of your journals, TH!

Anyway, here's another concept album that ocurred to me :-

Sedan Delivery, by Neil Young. It's apparently based on Kerouac's On The Road book, so it's an interesting idea, but I'm not sure that the music itself delivers...

The entire discography of Genesis is pencilled in for November/December --- the last of my three discographies; Tom Waits and Marillion being the other two, and already done --- so expect to see a lengthy review of it there.

Open Mike Eagle - Brick Body Kids Still Daydream

Pretty sure that this beats out The Wall as far as brick-related concept albums go. Lyrically speaking, this album is on a new level, especially with the closing track.

Good question. I think there needs to be a story but that's a broad statement. something like A love Supreme qualifies and has no real lyrics other than the title repeated. But it has an overall theme of spirituality. Some good ones:

The Wall
The hazards of love
A love supreme
Operation Mindcrime

Yes, Its true!!!

Are you hip to Jpegmafia yet?

To keep it somewhat concept album related, I'll rec Uncommon Nasa's new album Written at Night, which is rad as ****. Ka's Honour Killed the Samurai is cool too.

Best Concept Albums

Yes I did do a search and literally no other thread I found was about the best concept albums. Pretty clear concept so what're your fav concept albums?

My pretty clear fav is Willie Nelson's Red Headed Stranger. He covered a bunch of old songs, strung them into a story, and made one of the best albums, concept or otherwise, ever made. It's emotional, it's intimate, and it's amazing. Might even be the best country album ever made. Brilliant for "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" if nothing else.

Gotta use every opportunity to rep Kate Tempest.

Well, I'm going through albums for my next journal (top 25 albums of each year). When I was reviewing 1960 I came across this one by Johnny Cash. I won't call this my favorite concept album, but it's pretty damn good.
