How much music do you listen to a day?

I think I'm slightly addicted; please tell me I'm not - I listen to at least 4 hours a day, by my best guesses.

What about you all?

Machine 06-02-2015 08:08 PM

4 hours? Childs play. I probably average on 8-10 hours a day.

Overcast 06-02-2015 08:17 PM

10-12 hours on average
14+ every other day
Around 8 on lower days

Carpe Mortem 06-02-2015 09:28 PM

Yeah, kinda always have music going.

banta 06-03-2015 09:52 AM

Not as much as I want to. I'm looking for some new music, that's why I came here. I'd say 3-4 hours a day is probably normal.

Trollheart 06-03-2015 09:58 AM

I don't look at it as how many hours. Because I'm always writing for my many journals, and now have "Love or Hate?" going too, I would probably guess around 3-4 albums per day, though there will be days when I listen to none (rare) when I'm too busy. My problem is that these days I really can't listen to an album without mentally composing a review, and on the other side, I need to have album reviews done, so I tend to listen more to the albums I have to than the ones I want to, the ones I know. My fault of course. Also I run my TV/film and comic book journals, so that takes up a lot of time too.

EPOCH6 06-03-2015 10:11 AM

Can't listen to music at work, so that's 8 hours cut. I'm awake for maybe 6 hours after that, playing guitar for probably 3 - 4 of those hours. Obviously listening to music any time I'm in my truck, maybe an hour and a half of that a day. So in total probably ~5 hours a day, and most of that is just me jamming away.

DriveYourCarDownToTheSea 06-03-2015 01:11 PM

Some days, very little or none (usually weekdays). Other days, as much as 5 or more hours.

FESTusEzeli 06-06-2015 02:06 PM

Spotify is on at work all day for me, unless I have meetings. Can't go a day without music.

fiddler 06-06-2015 02:09 PM

I'm always listening to music on my phone or Pandora, especially when I'm just parked somewhere.

gsrox 06-08-2015 07:02 PM

It's usually Pandora or YouTube and that extends beyond the 8 to 5 parameters of my job. For example today I pretty much used the whole day cranking Pandora. If there was a way to pipe music into my dream sequence without waking up I'd embrace that shamelessly.

Moss 06-08-2015 08:33 PM

Got 2 albums in today. Would listen all day if I could.

easycadence 06-09-2015 07:03 AM

Just timed myself - so it seems I've completely underestimated my listening time for the day: 14 hours. What is wrong with me.

Franco Pepe Kalle 06-10-2015 04:14 PM

It all depends. It would be 1 to 6 hours a day.

Cuthbert 06-10-2015 04:32 PM

Most days I don't.

robert68 06-12-2015 05:46 AM

As much as I can really, maybe 4 hours a day

thegaffer 06-12-2015 07:49 AM

Used to listen to between 6 and 8 hours, these days more like 2 or 3. Theres less stuff that I like these days....

badhead 06-25-2015 03:15 PM

4-6 hours per day

Goofle 06-25-2015 04:54 PM

4 hours 50 minutes and 48 seconds, approximately.

Machine 06-25-2015 05:03 PM

Since summer started probably around 14 to 16 hours a day on average.

Insane Guest 06-26-2015 12:47 AM

Past couple of days I've been listening to 6-8 hours, I had forgotten how much I like music.

dantheriffman 06-26-2015 06:51 AM

Currently 8 hours at work + 1 hour in the train + 1 hour in the gym so 10 hours a day!

Golden Lights 06-28-2015 12:06 PM

I do around 6 hours a day.
There are people who don't listen at all! How do they live!

Baihe 11-03-2015 07:01 PM

How long do you spend on listening to music every day?

Every day I listen to music. And I spend an hour singing. When I'm taking a bus ,I listen to music. When I'm doing the houseworks,I listen to music too.How about you?

Norg 11-03-2015 07:22 PM

alot at work I cant listen to it at all tho since if they call me I need to hear the radio LOL

Ashwell John 11-03-2015 07:39 PM

Not the most of time. Only 2-3 hours per day I listen music.

Ilistentoeverything 11-03-2015 07:39 PM

Well, it really depends on the free time I have, but I do listen to music everyday. :)

Someone help me find a pre-existing thread on this topic. Tried a few keywords but can't find it.

Overcast 11-04-2015 01:31 AM

Around 7 to 14 hours per day, and 4 to 8 albums per day based on my month of October. Lucky to have 24/7 free time.

The MB search is famously unreliable, I found it with google.

innerspaceboy 11-04-2015 06:09 PM

About 14 hours daily. More on the weekends.

Pet_Sounds 11-04-2015 08:21 PM

My phone drowned in a bucket of warm, soapy water a couple months ago, and I don't have a computer of my own, so my music consumption has plummeted. I can only really listen to the radio (classic rock, new country, etc.) or what I own physically (which is all from the same dozen artists). Still, I probably rack up a couple hours a day from the classical and jazz radio stations and my CD/cassette/vinyl collection.

That's why I haven't been talking about music much lately.

Black Francis 11-05-2015 09:18 AM

It depends, there are days i don't listen to any music at all and other days i could listen to it for 6 to 8 hours. personally i find that sometimes listening to an abundance of music diminishes my appreciation for it a bit, it all starts to sound the same and instead of being excited about the songs im just going through the motion of listening to music out of habit, not joy.

OccultHawk 11-05-2015 04:10 PM

I'd say I average two to five hours.

Mr. Charlie 11-05-2015 06:37 PM

Usually a lot.

Mister Mushroom 11-05-2015 07:07 PM

Depends what I'm doing that day. Generally around 4-8 albums worth of songs. If I'm busy doing woodworking probably more, if I'm busy actually playing an instrument probably less.
