Go

I wish I could listen to this record again, but I've heard it already. Has some great songs on it.

Going into this, had no clue it'd be a post-rock/instrumental record and as far as those types of records go, this one seems a weeee bit tame. That isn't to say though I wasn't pleased with what I heard. The cymbals that start this album slowly start becoming really cacophonous. Just apocalyptic sounding shit, but at the drop of a hat can become very soft and slow, then loud and banging another. I don't really see myself listening to this again, but it's solid.

Recommendation: sure

Liturgy reminds me of Deafheaven (well I suppose Deafheaven remind me of Liturgy since it came out sooner than Sunbather) the way that they can be perceived as black metal/post-hardcore/Avante Garde/screamo and the hipsters can still find something to please them, and their beards. Something Deafheaven don't have that Liturgy does is their intricate math rock solos. Jesus, it makes me wanna plow my face through a wall. Vocals are inaudible but given the circumstances of the type of music, I enjoy them quite a bit. Thank a bunch machine, time to listen to the Ark Work.

Recommendation: Do yourself a favor

It is, and you should. There's weird electronic elements in their stuff as well.

Yeah those moments are far in between but when used it's executed nicely.
