Twofers

On most classic rock stations I've heard throughout my life, there are a few songs that ALWAYS get played together.

Three most notable in my mind are:

We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions - Queen
Waitin' on the Bus/Jesus Just Left Chicago - ZZ Top
Heartbreaker/Livin' Lovin Maid - Led Zeppelin

Any more that are coupled together on YOUR rock station?

In your reply PLEASE indicate which station or at least the city/town where you hear these twofers.

One time I was listening to 88.3 in San Diego and I was certain that they were playing Miles Davis but it turned out to be someone else once I looked it up. Does that count? I basically got the beginning of a Miles track and the back half of some other dude's track.

"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)" > "A Day in the Life" - The Beatles
"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" > "With a Little Help from My Friends" - The Beatles
"Long Distance Runaround" > "The Fish (Schindleria Praematurus)" - Yes
"Black Mountain Side" > "Communication Breakdown" - Led Zeppelin
"Brain Damage" > "Eclipse" - Pink Floyd

All of the classic rock stations in the New England area used to follow pretty much the same format and play the same songs and combinations/segues. Those were just the ones that I thought of at the moment (besides the three you mentioned) but there are lots of others.

WBCN (Boston, MA), WAAF (Worcester, MA), WZLX (Boston, MA), WBLM (Portland, ME), WGIR-FM (Manchester, NH) and probably a few more I'm forgetting at the moment.

I haven't listened to any of those stations in years, though. WBCN no longer broadcasts on FM radio and WAAF has switched its format so many times, I don't know what they play these days. I think the others are still classic rock stations and I'd be willing to bet they still play those combination/segues.

Both of these stations were freaking great for most of the 70s and 80s. WBCN was the first station to really break Zeppelin big. They were given an advanced copy of LZ1 and played it non-stop. By the time Zep first played The Boston Tea Party they were already a big thing.

(Trivia: The guy in the front row on the left is J.J. Jackson. One of the first MTV VJs.)

^I remember JJ Jackson.^

WLUP in Chicago has been playing this since the beginning of time and frankly, I'm a bit tired of it:

Eruption/That godawful Kinks tune that was bad enough when the Kinks did it.
