Childhood Classics

I imagine that most of us music nerds on MB had an early start to music and subsequently a few earbugs that we loved at the time. The idea for this thread is to pick an album that you loved as a kid (or had a single on it that you loved as a kid) and review it to see how it stands up after all of those years of developing your music taste.

Ideally, we'll just be doing albums, but if you want to do a more general artist review or a specific song that's fine as well. Insofar as defining "childhood", let's say that the cutoff age is 13 years old. I'd also prefer reviewing albums that you haven't heard in a long time as opposed to albums that you still throw on now that you discovered as a child. But if you want to do that, I don't give two ****s, or even one.

I'll be posting up a review of a nu-metal album soon. We'll see if nostalgia takes the reins.

I'm on a Motorhead kick for obvious reasons, but I'll do a review of Van Halen's OU812, as it pretty much defined the period before I started listening to music for real.

Might be a good reason to listen to some Beatles again.

I genuinely like Van Halen, but a lot more as a kid. The first few albums are childhood classics most def. Fair Warning and the s/t atop them all. Also really loved Kiss (still do), and their double platinum greatest hits was one of my first CDs, so that'd fit here too

The Prodigy-The fat of the land

yall know about the album prob one of there most popular album and I think I have said many times one of my first and fav albums

I remember when everyone was all spokked about there MV Smack my bitch up was banned from MTV for showing a pair of hooters LOL that only made me more interested in them

the album is great it was pretty music the soundtrack to all the Kung Fu and Dance videos LOL

I think the song Diesel Power was the sole reason that at a young age I was like IM ****in with Hip Hop and Rock/Metal from the start when I was like 7 years old

I think it was a landmark album it was like showing that Electronic music Mixed with Alt rock was on the map and here to stay
