Lisnaholic, I've been receiving solicitations from AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) in the mail lately.

Anyway, before I careen further toward the golden years, just want to say really enjoyed Winifred Atwell's ragtime piano playing (never heard of Winifred before) and of course "Shake, Rattle & Roll" is a classic.

Your birth year really is tough to select from, for the reasons you outlined. They must have announced that Lisnaholic was born and all else became filler. :) But here's pretty good single from that year, which I don't think reached your shore and pram ;) 'til a couple of years later.

^ HaHa! Thank you for a post that has cheered me up a lot and will help me to face old age with dignity!

^ Well, that's definitely premature on their part! In my case, there was a bureaucratic line I crossed a year ago when I got myself a Senior Citizens' discount card. :(

I'm glad you like the Winifred Atwell; it still sounds surprisingly fresh, though with the Bill Haley, I don't think anyone would dare to write those pots-and-pans, get-my-breakfast lyrics anymore.

^ For you, musicians obviously reacted differently. They must've been whispering to each other, "O-oh, we have ribbons in the audience now; better come up with something good!" And they did pretty well, so in your pram you were soaking up, I'm a Believer, Whiter Shade of Pale - lots of good sunny stuff in case Venus in Furs was giving you nightmares.

Lisnaholic, I laughed so hard at your last punchline about Venus In Furs and nightmares that an office mate stopped to ask what was so funny. Rest assured I did not wear "shiny, shiny, shiny boot"-ies of leather in my pram. At least not on very hot days. ;)

No matter what bureaucratic lines we cross, you will always be ageless and the world's most elegant teenager to me.

In 1992 The UEFA Champions League Anthem was written by English composer Tony Britten.

^ Welcome to MB, Inna ! I wonder what else was around in 1992?

^ That conjours up all kinds of seriously incorrect images, so let's move on:-

1995- The Roots "Do You Want More?!!!??!" my favorite is Distortion to Static. The back beat is hot, the verses use rhythmic variations to keep the words flowing. There are many breaks in the beat to let the emcees go off.

Green Day - Redundant from the Nimrod album but I was never a huge Green Day fan. There were too many cool new bands starting up at the time - like Sum 41.
