Does music have more positive or negative effects?

I was just wondering, which is it? Is music like drugs or is subjective or something like that?

Deep stuff.

I'm being serious. I want a discussion. Someone said that music has an effect like drugs, but I think it's more comparable to the sense that people get when doing something productive in general such as exercise or poetry.

Zhanteimi 07-06-2016 05:05 AM

Looks like you figured it out then!

Music stimulates your endorphins

Bro it depends on what you fill your soul with, honestly.

You really have to be careful what kind of music you pour into yourself, because I could get deep on you here but as I don't know you I might scare you because. I wear the tinfoil in this ****ed up forum family.

Music increases your chances of going deaf. Avoid it at all costs.

Why don't you elaborate a little.
"It's like drugs or something or possibly not" isn't really discussion material.

If you believe binaural beats work, then yeah, It's a drug.

Just tell me you're not talking about demonic possession and/or government mind control. Lie to me if you have to.

Good thing binaural beats don't work.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure all the people that claim it works is just a mind over matter type of thing. I tried it and nothing happened.

All I know is if you listen to Michael Bolton you're doomed.

"I celebrate his entire catalogue. For my money, it doesn't get any better than when he sings 'When a Man Loves a Woman'."

I'm being serious. What have studies shown due to Music's effects?

They did a study to see what the different genres did to people. They found that heavy metal music made people happy. That's the only thing I know.

I think music works both ways. It depends more from person. It can change mood from bad to positive, also for example teenagers shouldn't listen depressive music in hard times, it can strengthen affect.

My thoughts exactly.

Philip Rehnlund 07-12-2016 08:14 AM

It has more positive effects, at least in my opinion.

Of course, If I heard my ex's favorite song, or if I hear a song multiple times throughout the day (without me asking for it), I don't think I'll be happy. (I'll be quite agitated lol)
