Requesting Space Opera music
Hello I'm new to the forum so I'm not sure exactly if requests are fine, but I didn't see anything for Space Opera in a search and I would really like to have more of this type of music to listen to!
Here are the Space Opera bands that I know of: Metal: Glorrhammer - Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards Rap/ Funk/ Hip Hop: Deltron 3030 - Deltron 3030; Event 2 Hyper Jpop - Momoiro Clover Z - (song) Mōretsu Uchū Kōkyōkyoku Dai Nana Gakushō (I can post the end of the Youtube link to it if requested, as finding a good link is quite annoying otherwise.) Anyways, I would very much like to have more Space Opera music to listen to. I really love this setting for music! Thanks for any recommendations! |

You might want to look at Spacer Metal by Star One. All of the songs are based on sci-fi movies. Good selection on the Gloryhammer album. Random trivia: the font on their original logo was taken from The Dark Crystal. |
@JGuy Grungeman
Both of those recommendations are amazing, exactly what I was looking for! Thank you very much. |
Yer welcome.

You're welcome. |
I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but there's this British minimal wave/minimal synth band Solid Space and their 1982 album Space Museum. Eleven songs, sci-fi themes, several references to Doctor Who. For example, songs: 'Tenth Planet', 'Earthshock', and even the album title, 'Space Museum', are all names of Doctor Who episodes/stories. (I mean, Cybermen on the cover!) 'Destination Moon' is a 1950 science fiction film, 'A Darkness In My Soul' possibly a reference to early sci fi Koontz novel, 'Spectrum Is Green' is from Captain Scarlet.
Eh, here's the whole album Solid Space - Space Museum (1982) |
Also, you can look into early electronic music...lots of sounds from space there (not enough opera though)
Herbert Eimert: Klangstudie II (1952) |
Glad to see some of the crazier recommendations! Anything Space Opera is welcome in my book :)
@bob. and @Ki While I normally don't like this style of music, but both of those dancers just make the music work so very well, its incredible. @dankstra I really liked the Solid Space recommendation, not so much on Herbert Elmet's one but I'll give more of his stuff a listen to later and see if it clicks. @grind This is easily my favorite recommendation out of the four. I love the rhythm and pacing of the song! Good stuff. Not as Space Opera esque as I would have liked, but thats just because its so crazy! Thanks for the recommendations, its appreciated! |
