There have been a number of times when I've given my ears a break for at least a month, and I've not cared that I wasn't listening to music during that time. I've typically done that when I've been working (I work as a musician for folks who don't know) a ton for a long period of time--like being on the road more or less nonstop, 5 or 6 gigs per week on average, for months on end.

Breaks were good for me. I appreciated all music even more after coming back to it post-break.

Sometimes, if it is too early in the morning, my brain is not receptive to music. Other than that, I really enjoy music and I play the keyboard for fun.

Last year was that year for me, I didn't really listen to music much. I play one or two songs but they were older songs and that's was about it. I didn't really listen to anything new. I was in a major funk when it came towards music and didn't really care to be honest. I had to play catch up this year and listen to all the new releases that came out last year that I missed along with this year's new releases.

No, music always. However, I go through phases where I hate everything except for one genre.. I try to listen to a variety usually, but sometimes I'm just really picky.

This is pretty much how I am.
