We considered it, but there was opposition, as usual from Batty for one, so I decided not to implement it. Yet. It is getting a little silly at this point though...
I thought the idea got a lot of support. What was the vote count?

It did get support, but Batty started his usual "Sieg Heil" campaign and frankly I just wasn't interested in debating it. If you want to now, that's fine. Vote if you prefer to make Sunday the very last day for reviews, and that, if the review has not been submitted before then, it can no longer be, and everyone moves on to the next album.

Vote yay or neigh and we'll see how it goes. If I only get a few votes I'll assume not enough people are interested in changing the system and just leave it as it is. Even so, I'd ask people to make a special effort to get their reviews in by Sunday, preferably Saturday. It just makes things easier all round.

Is there a reason Saturday is preferable to Sunday? With some of the longer albums/albums that are not readily available, sometimes I don't even get to listen to them until I get home, and that usually means waiting until the weekend starts. I think Sunday should be the cutoff day (should there be one).

And as an FYI, I did post my album pick a while back, but it didn't get added to the list.

I don't remember posting Nazi gifs about that. A lot of other stuff, but not that. You probably got confused, as usual.

I remember those goose stepping goons.

I chose Saturday, as the new album goes up Sunday to give people a chance to start listening to it by Monday. It kind of doesn't matter: either is acceptable. But this idea of running well into the next week is going to have to be dealt with.

Also, sorry about your pick: I remember you posting that. I'll update the OP shortly.

You post Hitler gifs so often and accuse me of being a tyrant, that yes, I probably did mix it up with some other post. But it's not like you haven't got form...

The point I suppose is that I don't have the power to stop people from posting after a certain date. Nobody can do that.

It's up to the latecomers not to post about an album which have all moved on from. Sort of like attending a book club and bringing last month's book and trying to discuss it while everyone else is talking about the current one.

I don't think the issue was having a cutoff date, it was making people lose their place on the list if they don't review by that date. The date itself wasn't really contested and makes sense to have.

Checking back, yes, you're right. It was based on that suggestion. Anyway, if everyone can stick to that rule, ie if you don't get your review in by Sunday latest you don't post, I think we'd be a lot better off. It's kind of hard to concentrate on this week's album when a few people are posting their reviews of last week's, which may engender their own comments from others.

I like bob.'s idea of putting it in a spoiler tag if another album is being reviewed.
