Youtube or CD?

How are you listening to music?
Only via youtube, or does everybody listen to CD nowadays?

Trollheart 03-05-2017 11:06 AM

Spotify mostly.
You should also include vinyl, as I'm sure many people listen to that. Also, YouTube? Well it's handy when you can't get it anywhere else, but most of my own music collection I listen to via my favourite media player on my PC.

OP's next thread will be in the lounge and titled "Grilled Cheese or Tuna Sandwich? Does everybody just eat grilled cheeses all day or do you all eat tuna sandwiches?"

You should had made a poll, and included more options, irregardless if some people think they are irrelevant. Stuff like P2P file sharing, YouTube, Spotify, Napster, CDs, 8-tracks, compact cassettes, Vinyl 33 1/3, 45s, 78s, and finally Edison Cylinders. I would seriously like to know what is the format that is more commonly used.

Trollheart 03-05-2017 11:59 AM

Personally, for me it's wax cylinders or nothing. Fie on this new-fangled vinyl!

Blue Amberol Records or bust.

The correct usage would be "you should have".... You said "You should had."

Yeah well, you can't keep having a poll made. He had only one chance to make it, and he had missed the opportunity to make it. I was talking about something he should "had" done when he "had" the chance, so shouldn't be "he should had"? Right? I mean any one else would had or have said "he should of made the poll."

Not to be pedantic, but no, I don't think there's ever a usage of "should had". Would you say "Hitler turned towards Kiev when he should had gone on to Moscow?" No, you'd say "he should have". So no matter the tense of the sentence, I think it's "should have" always.

It's good to work with you for once. Don't get used to it.

You ****.

Not so much Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as, well,
Batman v Dazzler: Dawn of Whatever .... ;)

I don't really own any music, I just stream everything from spotify. I'd prefer to have every album I enjoy on CD, but it's not feasible atm.

Mr Wonky Sensitive 03-07-2017 01:14 AM

Sometimes YouTube, sometimes CD, sometimes TV, sometimes Soundcloud.com, sometimes a movie DVD.

Snowman999 03-07-2017 09:00 AM

CD. CDs give the truest sound to the recorded song.

Most people put music up at youtube in mid-range mp3, which takes a 40mb file and compresses (of whatever it does) it to 3 or 4mb. Which is also the version many use for MP3 players. These versions are far from true, and in my car a CD played at volume 25 is loud, I have to turn it up to 50 for the same song on my MP3 player.

CD, vinyl or high-end MP3/AIFF are what you should listen to, to hear what the artist recorded at it's finest.

Chicagoslaw8 03-08-2017 08:43 AM

Mp3's Big Boi.

mrsvend3245 03-08-2017 05:52 PM

I usually listen on Itunes and sometimes Spotify. CD is much better than Youtube though, just the physical idea of it vs the non physical.

bluesfool 03-28-2017 12:16 AM

I have iTunes and have hundreds of album purchases, in addition to streaming Apple Music. I also use Amazon for digital album purchases. I prefer CDs and vinyl but the albums that are out of print has become difficult to find and pricy. I also listen to youtube. However, streaming has become the normal to this generation, whether we agree or disagree with it. It is what it is. Times has changed. The way we listen to music is media devices and computers. The days of stereo systems are gone. More so, I still collect physical media.

DarkRebel 04-06-2017 10:37 PM

Mainly I am listening to music via Spotify. So much cheaper that way.

Daniel Moon 04-08-2017 04:09 PM

http://www.youtube.com Is my first choice and if I like it I buy it on CD!:drummer:

kolleden 04-20-2017 04:43 PM

I personally like Youtube more because its alot easyer to access

innerspaceboy 04-20-2017 06:50 PM

Don't own a CD player. LP and FLAC torrents account for 99.9% of my listening. Spotify and YT are useless for my needs.

Blank. 04-20-2017 10:51 PM

I use Spotify mostly, if I can't get it there then I'll go to youtube. If I really enjoy it I'll spend the money and get the CD if it's cheap enough.

Sharkie 04-21-2017 11:19 AM

In this days buying physical CD's seems like a waste of materials when you can just buy it or stream it online.

You can also download artwork.

Road Ratt 04-21-2017 09:28 PM

I like to find new music on YouTube but I listen to music on my computer. With over 1,700 albums I have no need to listen to music anywhere else.
