Nice. He's the Jimi Hendrix or Jimmy Page of the sampler.

Since he's a sampler I'd say Page.

I haven't listened to a vinyl for a long time. Is their current popularity more as a collectors item or is there something special about them?

For me, and most people I feel, it's both.

Special editions of albums are put out a lot or the official edition is just hard to find. This scratches that collectors itch.

With the right equipment, vinyl can sound entirely different from compressed files, tapes, CDs, ect. Notice how I said different and not better? It's all personal preference.

Spinning an album also gives my ADD a chance to chill out and I prevent myself from switching to something different.

Adding to the question of vinyl: I honestly just like the look of it. I think it's also really cool to have it displayed in a book case or a shelf. It can make a room look really neat with the records and a turntable. And yeah, I find it fun to collect them too.

I also love colored vinyl. I have a few different colors now.

Pg.lost released a black and white vinyl for their Key album so that's one. Post Malones new album came in orange vinyl. It's a double album too which is nice. I can't remember off the top of my head the others atm.

Is that the one where he plays traditional drinking songs?
